Abu Dhabi Police confirmed its readiness and approval of the plan of security, regulatory and service measures to secure New Year's eve events in all areas of The Emirate of Abu Dhabi in cooperation with its strategic partners to ensure the smoothness of traffic and reduce traffic congestion and human arrivals in places where performances and fireworks begin with the commitment to "social distancing" and wear face-masks and adhere to preventive and precautionary instructions stressing the importance of taking into account all measures related to safety.

Brigadier Ahmed Saif al-Muhairi, Director of Central Operations, explained that Abu Dhabi Police has prepared a joint and unified security plan to secure areas and commercial centers and secure traffic during new year celebrations, and took all precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the public through the development of many scenarios, experiences and identification of roles and responsibilities with partners and prepared security plans and precautionary measures to deal with any emergency incident, God forbid, in order to ensure the security and safety of the emirate.

He said that the Directorate of Traffic and Patrols harnessed all its capabilities and smart technologies and AI technologies in the Safe City, in addition to field work for police to secure the events and traffic roads and contribute to the spread of security, safety, peace and preserving lives.

Abu Dhabi Police warned against uncivilized practices, such as reckless driving and noise caused by car horns, amplifying the vehicle's sound, music, radio and wheeling.

It called on the public not to compromise in the application of precautionary measures and instructions for the prevention of the virus "Covid-19", in accordance with resolution 38 of 2020 on the application of the regulation sins and administrative sanctions issued by a decision of the Council of Ministers No. 17 for the year 2020, concerning the control of violations, precautionary measures and instructions to limit the spread of the virus.
